Architecture

MONARO CR is shaped by confidence. Two storeys are composed around bold, sculptural geometry, where a grounded base of smooth off-form concrete sets a clean, ordered datum for the curved drum of dark metallic cladding that rises above it. The two work in deliberate counterpoint: one structural and honest, one sculptural and assured, together holding the corner with quiet authority. Where many homes recede, these assert themselves with grace: full-height curved glazing draws the gardens inward, vertical batten screening filters the light, and the interplay of solid and void gives each residence a strong sense of arrival. Inside, generous ceiling heights and framed outlooks move between intimate and expansive volumes. The result is architecture of genuine presence: bold, considered, and made to last.

Exterior Materials

The exterior is composed as a study in contrast and craft: black aluminium cassettes wrapping the upper form, its parapets and curved engaged columns drawn in a single confident gesture, grounded by a clean base of smooth off-form concrete. Against this dark, sculptural frame, two materials bring warmth and depth: copper screening, picking up the copper of the ground-floor entries to draw a thread of metal from doorway to skyline, and panels of flamed granite framing the windows with natural texture and weight. Curved glazing turns the corners in a single uninterrupted plane, while steel-framed pergolas and mature landscape soften the composition at ground level. Each material has been chosen for its longevity and tactility: concrete, granite, copper and glass combining in a palette that is rich, considered and quietly contemporary. Monaro Cr is an architecture of substance, sculptural and textural, and entirely at home in its Red Hill setting.

Interiors

The interior carries the language of the exterior inward: layered, textural and richly composed. The concrete and metal of the facade give way to engineered oak, veined stone and a palette of considered contemporary tones. Custom oak veneer joinery wraps the living spaces, a fluted oak island anchors the kitchen, and veined stone brings movement and depth to kitchen splash-backs and feature fireplace surrounds.

Open-plan living spaces flow seamlessly to private courtyards and covered alfresco terraces through full-height and curved glazing, drawing northern light deep into each residence. Wide-plank engineered oak floors run underfoot; stone benchtops, signature feature tiling and the gentle sheen of brushed gunmetal introduce contrast and detail. Each residence is offered in a choice of two carefully composed colour palettes, a lighter and a darker expression of the same considered design language.
